Help all to exercise their right to information and seek information directly related to their concern. 
Take into account all practical suggestions given on environmental issues. 
Take the critical objective feed backs in right spirit and undertake appropriate correctional measures. 
Keep the public and concerned on latest policy changes, initiatives etc., through print and electronic media as well as circulars. 
Continuously upgrade our services by using modern technology including computers. 

OUR SPECIFIC COMMITMENTS :

Redress the grievances of public, entrepreneurs, etc., on environmental issues with due concern: The field offices, Environmental Awareness Cell etc., of the Board will strive for early action. 
Investigate complaints on environmental issues within 24 hours with the well-established field structure. 
Closely monitor the pollution arising from all the industrial activities, according to the categories of industries i.e. Red (highly polluting), Orange (medium polluting) and Green (less polluting) to control and abate pollution. 
Adhere to issue consent orders to eligible new industries, which are not attracting Environmental Impact Assessment Notification, and Coastal Regulation Zone Notification on receipt of their application in full shape. 
Renew the consent orders to existing industries only on compliance of conditions and standards. 
Not hesitant in taking legal action and also to issue directions for closure, stoppage of power supply, water supply etc., against erring industries / agencies for non-compliance of pollution control legislations, conditions and standards. 

OUR COMMITMENTS TO DUTIES :

Collect and analyse the trade effluent / sewage samples and conduct air quality surveys to monitor the compliance of standards. 
Monitor the water quality of important rivers, lakes, coastal regions and water sources by conducting periodical inspection and sampling. 
Conduct ambient air surveys in important cities, industrial estates, major habitations etc., to ensure compliance of air quality standards. 
Conduct research and development activities relating to problems of water, land and air pollution and its prevention, control and abatement there of. 
Monitor the emission generated by automobiles to ensure the protection of atmosphere from air pollution. 
Impart training to staff of Government organizations, Non-Governmental organizations, Personnel from industries, Local bodies etc., to make them competent and capable of controlling and advising on waste treatment and pollution prevention techniques suitable to the local needs. 
Participate in environmental awareness programmes to create awareness on environmental issues among public, industries etc.
